Limitations

Every portrait leaves our felting table with as much likeness as wool and hands can give. Before you order, here is what the craft can and cannot do.

  • Each piece is shaped entirely by hand, so it will be very close to your pet, never a machine-perfect replica.
  • We work from one main reference photo per angle. Once felting has started, that photo cannot be swapped for another.
  • Wool holds color and softness beautifully, but it cannot imitate the shine of a glossy coat. Texture and sheen will differ from real fur.
  • Screens show colors differently, so the fur and eye colors we match may sit a shade away from what you see on your display.
  • The smaller the piece, the fewer fine details it can carry. Mini portraits and small figurines simplify markings by necessity.

During production we send progress photos, and we are glad to adjust what wool allows. If something matters to you, tell us early and we will work it in.
