My Story

Every DreamWood creature starts the same way: with a dream that refused to be forgotten.

I have always been fascinated by the strange, slow creatures that drift through our sleep — jellyfish that swim through the air, whales that glide between rooftops. You wake up, the dream fades, and by breakfast it is gone.

A few years ago I came across an old craft called automata: wooden figures brought to life by nothing but gears, cams and a turn of the hand. No batteries. No screens. Just wood and motion. The first time I watched a wooden jellyfish drift upward in slow motion, I recognized it immediately — it moved exactly like the creatures from my dreams.

That was the beginning of DreamWood.

I spent months searching for makers who still carve these mechanisms properly — people who understand that the magic is not in the wood itself, but in how slowly and quietly it moves. Together we bring these creatures out of the dream world, one species at a time.

Every DreamWood creature is mechanical, slow and silent on purpose. In a world where everything on your desk glows, beeps and demands your attention, these creatures ask for nothing. They simply move — and for a few minutes, so does something in you.

My hope is simple: that one of these creatures earns a small corner of your home, and gives you a few quiet minutes of dreaming awake, every single day.
